Where to Network in Taiwan in June 2022 – Conferences, Meetups, and More

Each month All Hands will share a post of events from around Taiwan. These events will span networking, professional learning, community gatherings, hiring, seminars, happy hours, and more. This will be a living list and is by no means comprehensive. If you know of a great event that should be included, please send us a message to let us know.


*Unless noted, most of these events are in English, but we have not attended all of these series before. You should look into the event if you have any language concerns.

 

6/1-29 – Android Code Club (Taipei)Taiwan Android Developer Study Group hosts a mixed language discussion gathering every Wednesday for Android developers. Whether you are a novice or a professional, code, chat, and discuss together at this event. (NTD $100, RSVP required)


6/3 – TGIF / Born to Shine Toastmasters MeetingsTaipei Public Speaking Group, which operates under Toastmasters International, invites you to come join a motivated, cohesive, bi-lingual and fun-loving group that strives for excellence in speaking skills, leadership, teamwork and personal growth. (NTD $100, RSVP required)


6/5 – Triple B Social (BBQ, Beer, and Board Games)Top Shelf Games, a company based in Taipei and headed by a board game enthusiast, hosts their monthly Triple B Social (beer, barbecue, and board games) event. Come out for a chill Sunday of delicious food, great beer, and fun games. (Free, 1 drink minimum per person, RSVP required)


6/7-18 – Self-Taught Coding TuesdaysTaiwan Code Camp wants to encourage more people to learn how to code so that they can be empowered to build products that solve problems they experience in their domain of work or in their daily lives. Whether you are working on a side project or learning a new coding language, come study/work at a cafe together every Tuesday night! (Free, RSVP required)


6/8 – Drink & Draw at the Hive Taipei! – Are you looking for a place to express your artsy sense? Join this event for the Hive Taipei’s house special wine and the best teacher from RoomARTsy to accompany your creative drawing journey. (NTD$500 for Members, NTD$550 for non-members, RSVP required)


6/8 – SyntaxErrorPython Hsinchu User Group (PyHUG), a group of Python programmers located in Hsinchu holds "SyntaxError," a social gathering where everyone is welcomed and doesn't have a presumed topic. Show up and bring your laptop to show code! (Free, RSVP required)



6/9 – Finding Formosa – The longer you live in a place, the more interesting things you learn about it. The All Hands community has community members with very interesting and unique jobs or hobbies that will chat about topics like Taiwan history, aboriginal culture, transportation policy and practices, and little-known political flotsam. (NTD$300, includes one beer or non-alcoholic beverage)


6/9 – Powerful Storytelling: Step-by-Step Guide to Get Others to Listen, Believe, and Act on Your Message – How do you get others to deeply listen, accept what you are saying, and act on your suggestion? Research after research shows that the most effective way is storytelling. Using real-world cases and hands-on practice,this seminar held by AmCham will provide a three-step process for transforming any business information into a powerful story. 6/12 – Asian Aerosol Conference 2022 – This 4-day-event will discuss a wide range of aerosol science and technology topics along with plenary/keynote speeches, parallel platform/poster sessions as well as an exhibition area to engage with leading companies offering instrumentation and services. The Conference will be held on the campus of National Taiwan University on June 12-16, 2022. (NTD$3000-13800, RSVP required)


6/12 – Let's Mine Money!Cinecore Mining Services will discuss how to make your money work for you, touching upon subjects like the future of the monetary and financial systems, DeFi and how secure it is, passive income & crypto mining. (Price unknown)


6/16 – Taipei Couchsurfing Thursday MeetingCouchsurfers in Taiwan welcome you to their regular Thursday surfers' meeting in the heart of Taipei for meeting new people and old friends, and to talk about everything and anything. (Free, RSVP required)


6/17 – Cognitive Noise and Bias – Two Nobel-prize winners in behavior economics have shown that when we collaborate with others, two factors invisibly creep into our decisions. Because we are not aware of what these two factors are—or how and when they creep in—most teams do not have a strategy in place for identifying and minimizing their impact. 6/18 – Taiwan Crypto and NFT Club MeetupMilliondc Ltd., an education platform for entrepreneurs, holds a professional network event that talks about Crypto, NFTs, and anything in between, with the goal of gathering people who share the same interest and learn from each other. (Free)


6/18 – Effective Communication & Presentation in EnglishBachir Bastien Coaching, life coach and trainer for millennials and early and mid-career executives throughout Asia, America and Europe, holds a 6-hour workshop in Taipei and Hsinchu. 6/20 – How and Why To Become An Angel InvestorDragons’ Chamber has been a platform for foreign entrepreneurs to gain exposure and valuable feedback on their businesses since 2016. This event invites you to come and learn from experienced investors about why and how to do angel investments. If you have a few hundred thousand NTD that you could possibly, under the right circumstances, consider investing in a worthy startup you believe in, come and learn how that would work. 6/22 – The 2022 AmCham Taiwan White Paper Luncheon – At this special luncheon, AmCham will formally launch its annual benchmark advocacy document of the year – the 2022 Taiwan White Paper – which will provide the Chamber’s recommendations to the Taiwan government on ways to strengthen the business climate. 6/25 – Celebration Canada Day – Friends from all over the world, gather together to celebrate Canada's National Day! The activities will include Canadian outdoor aesthetic culture/fashion, music/art, games/game touching and authentic exotic food/cold drinks imported from Canada. The event is designed for families to celebrate Canada's 155th birthday. (Free)


6/26 – Pitch Your F&B Retail Business – Continuing their mission to help entrepreneurs starting and growing their F&B business, three diverse professionals invite all F&B folks who are genuinely serious about starting a retail business, to join this high-intensity business idea development workshop. 6/30 – NFT Creative Crunch at Barcade ~ Happy Hour All Night! – Aiming to create a fun and casual meeting space for all things NFT related, Barcade Taiwan,All Hands Taiwan & MemBEERship creates a meeting of NFT artists, developers, creators or straight up enthusiasts.
