Where to Network in September – Meetups, Conferences, and More

Each month All Hands will share a post of events from around Taiwan. These events will span networking, professional learning, community gatherings, hiring, seminars, happy hours, and more. This will be a living list and is by no means comprehensive. If you know of a great event that should be included, please send us a message to let us know.


*Unless noted, most of these events are in English, but we have not attended all of these series before. You should look into the event if you have any language concerns.


9/3All Chambers ‘Autumn’ Happy Hour – Always well attended, the All-Chamber Autumn Happy Hour is a good way to connect with members from all the Chambers in a relaxed setting. Enjoy the Autumn sun with a poolside BBQ at the Wet Bar. Special guests from the All Chambers Golf Tournament will also be attending. (NT$1,100-1,300)


9/4Meet The Anchors | Ideas, partners & more – On the 1st Friday of every month from 10 to 11am, Anchor Taiwan invites entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and newcomers to a small and cozy session to connect with you. No agenda, but it usually kicks off with introductions. Curious about what we are up to, want to pick our brain on your market entry/fundraising, or simply want to meet some newcomers and trade ideas? This is for you. (Cost of a drink)


9/4展望後疫情時代, 台灣的經濟挑戰與機會 Luncheon with MOEA Minister Mei-Hua Wang – AmCham Taipei is honored to invite the newly appointed Minister of Economic Affairs, Mei-Hua Wang, to join our members for a special luncheon at The Regent Taipei. This event will offer our members an opportunity to learn more about Minister Wang’s new ideas for MOEA. *This event will be conducted in Mandarin. (NT$1,400-2,000)


9/4SparkLabs Taipei DemoDay 4 – SparkLabs DemoDay is a celebration of an entrepreneur’s journey. It is a time to showcase the achievements of the Batch 4 startups and for founders can share their vision.​ DemoDay 4 will feature game-changing startups, new technologies and innovations, and discussions on tech trends from industry leaders.​ (Free)


9/12 Open UP Summit 2020 – Open UP Summit is the first tech conference organized by Star Rocket Foundation and WeTogether.co, focusing on open source projects/products and bringing tech communities together. Aiming to provide a unique conference experience by integrating global resources and developing open source products with guided and enjoyable processes. (Online, USD$50)


9/13 Austrian-Taipei Society Summer Picnic Potluck – Bring your blanket and some of your favorite snacks and drinks to share with others during this lovely Sunday afternoon. Expect music and frisbees to have a fun time. Everyone is welcome! (Free)


9/16 SoGal Lunchclub – Starting a business is difficult . Feeling like you are alone and the only one facing challenges? Why not get together with other diverse founders for lunch? SoGal picks a different restaurant or cafe located near different co-working spaces around Taipei each month for lunch. (Cost of lunch – RSVP!!!)


9/17Global Taipei Dialogue: Taiwan’s Healthcare System – Global Taipei Dialogue brings together a diverse crowd of residents to discuss issues important to society in Taiwan. This event will discuss both the international and domestic conversations surrounding Taiwan’s famous healthcare system and industry with experts in the health and political science fields. The event will have time for networking both before and after the presentations. (Free)


9/17AmCham 69th Anniversary Happy Hour – After nearly seven decades, the Chamber continues to lead the way in advocacy, information sharing and social events in Taipei. This reception will be held at the Mandarin Oriental Taipei in the 8th floor Grand Salon overlooking the garden and outdoor pool – a wonderfully atmospheric space for such a special function. (NT$1,500)


9/18The first step of starting a business in Taiwan – How to build your dream team – Increased interest in globalization and changes in policies for foreign startups have prompted more and more foreigners to choose Taiwan as a location to start their business. 9/25MOX x TSS | Go Global – Expand and Get Paid – How do startups develop business globally? MOX and TSS will share knowledge and experiences for local startups looking to expand globally. 9/28-29ICRES 2020 – ICRES 2020 is the fifth International Conference on Robot Ethics and Standards series. The ICRES conference series provides a multidisciplinary forum for discussing the fundamental and pressing safety, ethical, legal, and societal issues in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and the scope is not limited to physical robots. 9/302020 CCIFT GALA – The French Chamber’s signature CCIFT Gala is the most anticipated event of the French-Taiwan business community each year. The theme for 2020 is “La Cour du Roi”, representing French history and abundant culture. It is a theme that could best present the glory of France and be entertaining to guests at the same time. 9/30Better Business Awards 2020 – Award Ceremony – The third annual BCCT Better Business Awards will be a glamorous, entertaining and informative event featuring a keynote, and a fantastic theme. (NT$2,200-2,500)
